Some weddings are extra special because of the history you share with the people standing in front of your camera.
I’ve known Richard since he was just a kid. As one of my little sister’s closest friends growing up, he’s been around for what feels like forever. Watching him grow from that little boy into a husband, father, and the man standing at the altar was incredibly meaningful. Being trusted to document such an important day for him and Rachel was truly an honour.
Richard and Rachel’s love story has been years in the making. Together, they’ve built a beautiful life and welcomed two amazing children who played such an important role in their wedding day. Watching their children stand proudly beside them as they exchanged vows was one of those moments that reminded everyone what weddings are really about. This wasn’t just the joining of two people; it was the celebration of a family.
Their ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Joseph’s Church in Chatham, where they exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by family and lifelong friends. There is something timeless about a traditional church ceremony, and St. Joseph’s provided the perfect setting for such an emotional and meaningful celebration.
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to Retro Suites Hotel, one of my favourite wedding venues in Chatham. Between its unique character, historic architecture, and endless opportunities for beautiful portraits, it’s always a fantastic location to photograph. From quiet moments together to joyful celebrations with family and friends, every part of the day reflected who Richard and Rachel are; kind, genuine, and deeply connected to the people they love.
Congratulations, Richard and Rachel! Thank you for allowing me to be part of such an important chapter in your story. It was incredibly special to watch the two of you officially begin this next season together, surrounded by the family and friends who love you most. I wish you both, and your beautiful family, a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and countless happy memories.
