On December 20th, I had the incredible honour of photographing Ashley and Nick’s 10-year anniversary celebration at the Retro Suites—a full-circle moment, as I had the privilege of documenting their wedding day a decade ago. Their love story has been an inspiration, and capturing this milestone in their journey was nothing short of magical.

The evening began with a short private photo session with Ashley and Nick, exploring the unique and whimsical charm of the Retro Suites main lobby. We created playful and intimate portraits that celebrated their love and growth over the past decade. It was particularly special to recreate a group photo with their original wedding party—10 years later, with just as much love and laughter in the room.

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Ashley and Nick renewed their vows in a heartfelt ceremony officiated by Luke Davidson. And just like 10 years ago, Santa made a surprise appearance at the soiree! This time, Mrs. Claus joined him, staying to witness the vows as a festive, joyful touch to the evening.

The rest of the evening was a celebration of love, community, and gratitude. With Waylan Grin providing the perfect soundtrack, guests enjoyed a relaxed, no-rules party featuring delicious appetizers and a late-night buffet. The atmosphere was lighthearted yet deeply meaningful, with Ashley and Nick’s heartfelt intention behind every detail—from their surprise vow renewal to the carefully curated guest list of loved ones who have supported them through life’s highs and lows.

One of the most touching parts of the evening was witnessing how Ashley and Nick brought their “village” together to honor a decade of love, resilience, and growth. The candid smiles, warm embraces, and shared laughter captured the essence of the night perfectly.
